Our congregation is dedicated to the education and nurturing of our youth. Our goal is to become their home for faith, friends, fellowship, community service and fun — providing a safe place and caring support for them during their teen years.
The Youth Group meets both in person and online via Discord. Please contact Shannon at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
We’re not just for church members!
All middle school and high school youth are welcome to attend the weekly and numerous special activities designed just for them.
Sunday Evening Youth Group takes place from 5 – 7 p.m. via the Discord app. Please refer to our calendar for our schedule. Please email Shannon at email@example.com if you would like to join us.
T-shirts: The Youth Group designed their own T-shirts. They are available upon request.
Rock the Universe at Universal, Orlando: We have such an amazing time at Rock the Universe each year! We spend Saturday and Sunday during the day at the parks, riding rides and eating way too much food. On Friday and Saturday nights, we dance and sing at the top of our lungs with some of our favorite Christian rock bands. It is an amazing weekend filled with the love of Christ and music dedicated to Him.
Youth Christmas Party: Each year the group picks what they would like to do for their Christmas party. Last year we braved the escape rooms at Will to Escape in Jupiter and had a white elephant gift exchange at the church.
Youth Group Lock-ins – We have two lock-ins each year, one on New Year’s Eve and one at the end of summer right before school starts. We go to dinner and some other event such as the movies, horseback riding, ice skating, or mini golf. We also have a devotion, play games, dance, sing, and watch movies. This is a great time that the kids really look forward to all year!
Souper Bowl of Caring – The Youth Group sponsors this event each year to help fight hunger in our area. They collect food items from church members and preschool families, then give them to a local food pantry. Thank you to everyone who helps make this event such a success!
Gleaning – We look forward to joining other members of the congregation to glean each year. We support CROS Ministries food banks by picking any left over fruits or vegetables at area farms. This year we helped collect over 9,000 pounds of tomatoes and this produce was donated to help feed the hungry in our community.
Strawberry Café – The Youth Group does an amazing job supporting the annual Strawberry Festival by serving in the Strawberry Café.
Youth Fall Retreat – Each year we join other Youth Groups from our Presbytery at the Lake Placid Christian Camp for a weekend of devotion, games, campfires, s’mores and fun!
Being the hands and feet of Christ – Besides the Souper Bowl of Caring and Gleaning mentioned above, our group is involved in many activities to help our communities. Each year we collect school supplies to fill backpacks for the Real Life Children’s Ranch, Family Promise, and the Edna Runner Tutorial Center, and we fill shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. This year we also began assembling welcome packages for the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital and traveled to the airport for Honor Flight Operation Homecoming to welcome home WWII, Korean, and Vietnam veterans who traveled to Washington D.C. for the day to visit the memorials. Ms. Shannon has gone on this trip as a volunteer, and it is truly an emotional, moving, and inspirational experience.
Youth Sunday – The Youth Group did an amazing job leading the service on Youth Sunday. With Covid-19 restrictions, the whole Youth Group could not be in the Sanctuary at the same time, so we recorded a skit called, “The Not So Faithful Heroes,” where we learn what it would have been like if the heroes of the Bible decided they were not up to the task asked of them by God. Parker Cone and Laila Sundrud attended in person to lead the congregation and the skit was shown on the screen during the sermon.
Summer fun activities – We have lots of fun going to lunch, bowling, and the movies throughout the summer.
Mission Trip – Each year we spend a week on a mission trip to help others. This year, the Youth helped locally because of travel restrictions due to Covid-19. We packed 24 backpacks with items donated from the congregation and VBS families. The backpacks were donated to The Real Life Children’s Ranch, where we also led a one day Vacation Bible School.
Our upcoming events can be found on the What’s Happening page and the calendar.
